Brief:
To convert the shell of a 1940's telephone exchange into a 120 seater restaurant while solving the problems of irregular exposed beams, a flue rising through the space and a narrow frontage.
Solution:
Incorporating the toilet-block along with the entrance foyer to the front of the building allowed the larger open space at the rear to accommodate the bar and dining areas.
The stainless steel and wedge bar is wrapped around the rising flue and acts as the hub of the design and a welcoming introduction to the restaurant.
Earthy colours and natural leathers are used throughout with maple veneered pendant lights all combine to make for an interior with a modern Japanese feel.
