Brief to Mc Donnell Design, Interior Designers.
To update the interior of this very successful café in Rathmullan, Co. Donegal. On discussing the issues operationally the client was having is was also evident that the perception in customers minds was that Belle’s Kitchen was a café with an excellent food offer, but the existing interior had the look and branding of a fast food establishment.
Solution
To change customers perceptions a rebrand and interior design with distressed natural finishes and coastal references would allow customers to enjoy the renowned food Belle’s Kitchen had to offer in a relaxed casual bistro environment from morning through to evening. A new lighting scheme was also integral in providing a layered ambience throughout trading hours.
Success
The new design combines to make for a very warm and inviting interior with many subtle layers of colour and light, which comfortably caters for all. Indeed response to the rebranded and repositioned bistro offer has been overwhelmingly positive with trade up, especially in the evening and average spend per head also considerably up. Also featured in the Sunday Independant 100 top coastal places to eat.
