Brief to Mc Donnell Design, Interior Designers.
Client wanted to open a FFTG “Fast Food to Go” concept on a busy city street with good footfall and office workers in the vicinity. The unit was very small 26.5 sq. mts / 285 sq.ft. with an equally small budget. Do to the tight budget the shop front had to remain.
Solution
In order to attract customers the overall design had to express this operations offer is “a consistently fresh healthy product to go” that would be comparable to larger FFTO chains. A colour scheme that relayed the message was primary along with the use of smartly clad display counters & fridge units. A low energy lighting scheme to highlight the produce and menu was also important in achieving the look. And finally but very importantly was a quality branding package from the name to point of sale graphics that reflected and included local colloquialisms that connect with the customer.
Success
The overall design has proved to be a winner with customers from 16yrs to 60 yrs. with many commenting when initially opened “is Get Fed a nationwide chain?”
Following success of the Carlisle Road, Derry City unit, we have completed the design for a SECOND shop unit which opened in late 2017 on Strand Road, Derry City.
