Brief
Design an Irish Bar in a 2,900 sq. ft. unit located in a newly build mall leading to the main ski lift in the skiing resort of Soldeu, Andorra. The client requested that the bar be no too Irish, as they wanted it to have a broad appeal. It had to serve breakfast, lunches and après ski, then host live music in the evenings. In order to cater for all that it also had to have hardwearing finishes that could take ski boots and all that comes with snowboarding!
Solution
The unit was on the ground floor with a 4 star Hotel above sound proofing the pub was critical. The design is based on a long oval timber bar with a decorative back bar as the focal point, good vision lines for customers throughout especially towards the stage for live bands, comfortable seating areas which encourage interaction, a warm palette of colours and a lighting scheme to create the right atmosphere.
Success
The go to après ski haunt, that also provides beers, tapas and the best live music venue in the resort.
